The problem

Why now: the export problem facing Canadian SMEs due to tariffs

Canada is home to remarkable manufacturers, producers and entrepreneurs. But since new tariffs came into effect, finding new clients — at home and abroad — has become both more urgent and harder.

Finding buyers is slow and expensive

For an SME, identifying the right buyers, building a presence abroad and attending trade meetings takes time and money that few businesses can absorb on their own.

Foreign buyers don't know where to look

On the other side, international buyers don't always know who to approach to find what they need. The problem isn't the quality of Canadian supply — it's the matchmaking.

The response

A trade program that runs all year

Canada Commerce Global 2027 isn't a three-day trade show. It's a program that operates year-round, with targeted meetings, ongoing business opportunities, signed contracts, and one flagship gathering as its high point in 2027.

Meetings prepared in advance, not just business cards

Every meeting is set up ahead of time: the foreign buyers invited have needs that genuinely match what our companies can offer. The goal is to leave with leads and contracts — not just a stack of business cards.

Manufacturers, distributors and government, together

The project brings together manufacturers, exporters, importers, distributors, business associations and government partners in one matchmaking space built to generate real sales.

The roadmap

What's coming between now and 2027

The countdown to the 2027 flagship event starts with three concrete workstreams, launching now.

  1. Mobilizing government and the business community

Québec, Canada, Montréal and the business community at the same table, to validate, refine and launch the project together.

  2. A 12-month promotion cycle, every year

A full calendar of promotion and market activation, from kickoff through the 2027 flagship year — then repeated annually, progressively adding Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

  3. An annual rendezvous for Canadian trade

Making this initiative a must-attend showcase for Canadian products, at home and in export markets, year after year.

The technology

BassiliTrade: the technology behind the program

The BassiliTrade platform lets companies showcase their products and business needs — and keeps the connections going between events, all year long.

AI-matched requests for quotes (RFQs)

Artificial intelligence identifies new requests for quotes that match each company and routes them straight to their inbox. Business opportunities keep circulating long after the event ends.

Grouping SMEs that target the same markets

Companies aiming at the same markets can pool resources, share promotion costs, and explore the assistance programs they qualify for together.
